Snack sacks
Playing catch-up with this blog, now that I have a little free time. As promised (months ago), here are the snack sacks I made as Christmas gifts with my Happy Snacks design from Spoonflower.

More catch-up! Back in the fall I entered the “Flights of Fancy” palette-restricted fabric design contest on Spoonflower.
My sister-in-law put in a request for reusable fabric snack bags for her two young sons. I had been thinking about making them for a while, but had read that one should use food-safe fabric. Spoonflower carries a nice organic cotton knit (much like jersey) and an organic cotton sateen, so my first thought was to create two different cut-and-sew designs that would fit on a fat quarter for the exterior and interior.
It’s the most wonderful time of the year…Movember, that is. I always seem to craft more this time than I do for Christmas, as I come up with new ideas for things to sell during fundraising at the office. Last year it was plush mustache keychains, the year before, ornaments. This year I designed my Hipster Animals collection through Spoonflower and made change purses.
When a friend announced she was starting a kids’ gear consignment shop and also looking for original crafty items to sell as well, I started thinking that this would be a good opportunity to use up my fabric stash.
Only I started thinking about what fabric would be appropriate for a bib, and ended up designing my own.
